Lesser Periwinkle | Vinca minor (2 Litre)
Glossy evergreen leaves form a low carpet beneath blue-violet spring flowers. Lesser periwinkle is useful for covering soil beneath shrubs and in shady borders, but its rooting stems should be kept within the intended planting area.
Why we like it
- Evergreen leaves cover otherwise bare soil.
- Blue-violet flowers brighten spring.
- A useful ground cover beneath shrubs.
What to know
- Plant in sun, partial shade or shade in well-drained soil.
- Water during establishment; established plants tolerate some dry shade.
- Allow room for the creeping stems to root and form ground cover.
