About this variety

Through sales generated from the National Trust seeds, a minimum of £7,500 will be given to the National Trust to help look after nature, beauty and history for everyone, forever.

A reliable variety with excellent canker resistance, Parsnip ‘White Gem’ produces a uniform crop of smooth-skinned, flavoursome roots in virtually any soil types. Cropping over a generously long season, sow successively and you can enjoy harvesting fresh parsnips throughout autumn and most of winter. A delicious sweet flavour and smooth texture makes this a fantastic variety for roasting, it’s also great for adding to soups and stews.

When to buy and plant

Use the sowing dates on the packet. Some seeds need indoor sowing and transplanting; others can be sown directly outdoors when conditions are suitable.

Planting and growing

Follow the packet for sowing depth, spacing and germination conditions. Choose suitable seed compost where required, label varieties and avoid letting seedlings dry out.

Aftercare

Thin or transplant seedlings as directed and harden off indoor-raised plants before planting out. Water and feed for the crop or flower you are growing.

Excellent

Tried this substrate out of curiosity. Previously my gecko was on Earth Pro Arid which itself is a good substrate, so I didn't expect it to be outperformed. I prefer this substrate by far. It does not give off any dust when dry. When wet it sticks and holds together like sand on a beach, making it very malleable and easy to landscape your viv. It holds humidity very well. My gecko hates sphagnum moss, so I use this in his humid hide and it works just as good, so it's solved that issue for us!

Everything I ordered came packaged very securely with fragile stickers attached to the outside. Which was appreciated as bulbs were also in my order. Order arrived quickly too!
