Why We Love It
Iris 'Carmen' is a beautiful tall Dutch Iris with lovely white with pink petals that would look good in any garden design and makes an excellent cut flower. Often blooming between May and June these are good, long-lasting flowers and make nice clumps in the late spring garden.
What To Know
- Characteristics: Long stemmed with a white flowerhead accented with pale lavender colours and a golden yellow spot.
- Flowering Period: May-June
- Flowering Height: 45-50cm
- Planting & Care: Plant 15-20cm deep in fertile and moist, well-drained soils in sun to dappled shade.

How to Care
- Flowering each year in about May Iris produces stunning navy blue/pruple flowers with a dramatic and distinctive yellow midrib.
- Iris grows to about 50cm in height and makes an excellent cut flower
- It likes a well drained soil in a position where it will get full sun
- Plant 10cm deep and 10cm or more apart
- Stagger the planting over a few weeks if you want to and this will result in the blooms opening up over a longer period in the spring
