Equisetum scirpoides, also known as dwarf horsetail or scouring rush, is a unique and striking miniature reed-like perennial prized for its fine, upright, dark green stems and architectural form. A member of an ancient plant family, this non-flowering plant adds texture and visual interest to contemporary gardens, water features, and containers. It thrives in moist, even boggy soils and is ideal for groundcover or edging near ponds and streams. This hardy plant is easy to grow and requires minimal maintenance once established.
