Male Crowntail Betta (Betta splendens) is a selectively bred Siamese fighting fish for a mature, heated freshwater aquarium.

Aquarium and water conditions
- Temperature: 20–28°C for tank-reared bettas as a general guide
- pH: 6.0–8.0 as a general guide
- Setup: Filtered aquarium with gentle flow, plants and resting places near the surface
- Tank size: Choose for an adult fish and any carefully chosen companions
Behaviour and compatibility
Keep one male per aquarium. Choose any tank mates cautiously and avoid other male bettas and persistent fin nippers.
Diet
Offer a quality betta food and supplement with suitable small frozen or live foods. Feed modest portions.
Care notes
Keep ammonia and nitrite at zero, test water and change it regularly. Provide an accessible air space above the surface and a secure lid. Confirm the exact water needs of your stock before combining fish.
