The Pearl Gourami is a gentle Southeast Asian labyrinth fish with pearly markings and graceful fins. It does best in a calm, planted aquarium with space to reach the water surface.

- Adult size: 12 cm
- Temperament: Peaceful; males may defend areas

Provide dense planting, floating cover and open swimming room, with gentle flow. Leave access to the surface and maintain clean, stable water with regular partial changes.
Behaviour and compatibility
Keep with peaceful community fish that will not harass it. Avoid boisterous or aggressive tank mates. Offer cover if keeping more than one male or a pair.
Diet
Offer quality gourami flakes or pellets and varied small frozen or live foods. Feed moderate amounts.
Care notes
A shy fish may retreat when housed with very vigorous companions; floating plants and sheltered areas help it settle.
