Key Features:

Distinctive Appearance:
A striking goldfish variety known for its contrasting yellow-gold and black coloration. The body displays a mix of bright golden-yellow tones with deep black markings that create a unique pattern, with each fish developing its own individual color distribution. As they mature, their coloration may change, with black markings sometimes becoming lighter or shifting depending on genetics and environment.

Graceful Swimmer:
Displays calm yet active swimming behavior, often exploring all levels of the aquarium or pond. Its steady movements and attractive color contrast make it a visually appealing addition to freshwater setups.

Behavior:
Peaceful, social, and hardy, Yellow/Black Goldfish are well suited to community environments with other goldfish varieties. They are curious, active feeders and enjoy exploring their surroundings while interacting with other peaceful fish.

Care Requirements:

Tank Conditions:

Requires a spacious aquarium or outdoor pond with excellent filtration and plenty of swimming space. Ideal water temperature is 65–75°F (18–24°C), with a pH of 6.8–8.0 preferred. Strong filtration, good oxygenation, and regular water maintenance are essential for maintaining health and water quality.

Diet:

Omnivorous. Thrives on a varied diet including high-quality goldfish pellets, flakes, gel foods, vegetables such as peas and spinach, and occasional treats like bloodworms and brine shrimp. A balanced diet supports healthy growth and helps maintain strong coloration.

Compatibility:

Very peaceful and suitable for community setups with other goldfish varieties such as Shubunkins, Comets, and Common Goldfish. Avoid aggressive fish and tropical species that require warmer water. Best kept with similarly sized, slow-to-moderate swimming tank mates.

Size and Growth:

Adult Size:

Typically reaches 20–30 cm (8–12 inches), although juveniles are commonly sold at 2–3 inches.

Growth:

Grows steadily under optimal conditions, with growth influenced by tank size, diet, and water quality. Providing clean water, adequate space, and a nutritious diet helps develop stronger body shape and maintain attractive yellow and black coloration.
