Temperament & Handling
Generally calm and slow-moving. Handle only with wet, clean hands and support the whole foot/shell.
Enclosure
Recommended enclosure: A well-ventilated terrestrial enclosure; for adults allow at least 45 × 30 × 30 cm for a small group
Temperature: 22–28 °C
Humidity: 80–90%
Substrate: 10–15 cm of moisture-retentive, calcium-safe soil/coco mix kept damp but not waterlogged
Décor & hides: cork bark, leaf litter, moss and shaded hides
Feeding & Water
Feeding: A varied plant-based diet including leafy greens and vegetables, with occasional fruit. Provide a constant calcium source such as cuttlefish bone.
Water: Use a very shallow water dish or mist the enclosure regularly; avoid deep water.
Special Care
Remove spoiled food promptly. Avoid acidic, salty or seasoned foods. Eggs may be laid in deep substrate.
Compatibility
Can be kept with its own species if sufficient space, food and calcium are provided.
