Temperament & Handling
Generally calm; handle gently and infrequently. Defensive secretions can irritate skin.

Recommended enclosure: Adult: at least 45 × 30 × 30 cm; larger for groups
Temperature: 22–26 °C
Humidity: 80–90%
Substrate: 12–15 cm or more of decayed hardwood, leaf litter and organic soil
Décor & hides: cork bark, moss and rotting hardwood
Feeding & Water
Feeding: Decaying leaf litter and wood should form the staple diet, supplemented with vegetables, occasional fruit and calcium.
Water: Maintain humid substrate and provide a shallow water dish if safe.
Special Care
Deep edible substrate is essential. Never use chemically treated or resinous wood.
Compatibility
Usually suitable for groups if space and food are abundant.
