Relatively new to the UK, Squash 'Jumbo Pink Banana' is a must-grow for all winter squash lovers. This formidable variety produces huge pale pink fruits that average 7-9kg each, but with a little encouragement can produce champion squashes up to 27kg in weight and 4ft in length! 'Jumbo Pink Banana' boasts sweet, flavoursome orange flesh and stores well. Reliable and high-yielding even in poor summers, this unusual variety will need plenty of space to ramble, but will reward you with a truly impressive crop. Winter squash are a fantastic addition to any vegetable patch. Delicious roasted, baked, mashed or used in stews and soups, they are packed with vitamin A, very easy to grow and virtually pest-free – all they require is space to sprawl.
