The Endler Scarlet Guppy, a variant of the Poecilia wingei, is a vibrant and eye-catching freshwater fish that has gained popularity in the aquarium hobby. This small, lively fish is particularly noted for its brilliant scarlet coloration, often accompanied by iridescent patches and striking patterns that make it a visual standout in any aquarium. Endler Guppies, in general, are known for their hardiness and ease of care, making them suitable for both novice and experienced aquarists. The Scarlet variety, with its intense red hues, adds a splash of color and dynamism to a community tank.

Origin: The Endler Guppy, including the Scarlet variant, originates from the northeastern regions of Venezuela, particularly in the areas around Laguna de Patos and nearby bodies of water.

Temperature: The ideal temperature range for Endler Scarlet Guppies is between 24°C to 28°C (75°F to 82°F).

Water Quality: They are adaptable to a wide range of water conditions but prefer a pH between 7.0 and 8.0 and moderate water hardness.

Aquarium Size: A minimum tank size of 40 liters is recommended, as Endler Guppies are active swimmers and enjoy being in groups. The tank should be well-planted, providing hiding places and visual interest.

Feeding: Endler Scarlet Guppies are omnivores and should be fed a varied diet consisting of high-quality flake or pellet food, supplemented with live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp or daphnia.

Lifespan: With proper care, Endler Scarlet Guppies typically live for about 2 to 3 years.

Behavior and Personality: These guppies are known for their peaceful and gregarious nature. They are best kept in small groups where their social behavior can be observed. They are a good choice for a community tank with other non-aggressive small fish.
