Originating from the clearwater rivers and streams of New Guinea, this species is a popular choice among aquarists looking to add a splash of color to their aquariums. Slender Rainbowfish are appreciated for their slender body shape, iridescent scales, and a distinctive stripe pattern that runs along their sides.

Origin: Slender Rainbowfish are native to New Guinea.

Temperature: The ideal temperature range for Slender Rainbowfish is between 22°C to 28°C (72°F to 82°F).

Water Quality: They thrive in slightly acidic to neutral water conditions with a pH range of 6.5 to 7.5 and moderate water hardness.

Aquarium Size: A tank of at least 75 liters is recommended for a school of Slender Rainbowfish. They are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least six individuals. The tank should be well-planted with open areas for swimming.

Feeding: Slender Rainbowfish are omnivores and can be fed a diet of high-quality flake or pellet food. They also enjoy live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, or bloodworms as occasional treats.

Lifespan: With proper care, Slender Rainbowfish typically live for about 3 to 5 years in captivity.

Behavior and Personality: These rainbowfish are known for their peaceful and sociable nature. They are excellent community fish and get along well with other non-aggressive species. Slender Rainbowfish are best appreciated when kept in a school, as their tight formations and synchronized swimming create a visually appealing display in the aquarium.
