This fish is an artificial hybrid, not found in the wild, and is believed to be primarily a cross between the Midas and the Redhead Cichlid, although the exact parentage can vary.

Origin:
As a hybrid species, the Blood Parrot Cichlid does not have a natural habitat. It was first bred in Taiwan in the late 20th century and has since become a common sight in aquariums worldwide.

Temperature:
The ideal temperature range for Red Fire Parrot Fish is between 23°C and 27°C. They thrive in warm, tropical water conditions.

Water Quality:
These fish prefer a pH range of 6.5 to 7.8 and do best in moderately hard water. Consistent water quality and regular water changes are crucial for their health.

Aquarium Size:
A minimum tank size of 150 liters is recommended for a single Blood Parrot Cichlid, as they can grow to a significant size, up to 20 cm in length. Larger tanks are necessary for multiple specimens or community setups.

Feeding:
Blood Parrot Cichlids are omnivorous and should be fed a varied diet that includes high-quality cichlid pellets or flakes, frozen or live foods like brine shrimp, bloodworms, and occasional vegetable matter.

Lifespan:
In a well-maintained aquarium, Red Fire Parrot Fish can live for about 10 to 15 years.

Community Tank Compatibility:
They are generally peaceful but can be territorial, especially during breeding. It's best to keep them with other similar-sized, semi-aggressive fish. Smaller or more timid species may be bullied.

Breeding:
Breeding Blood Parrot Cichlids can be challenging, as males are often infertile. When breeding does occur, it typically requires a large, well-maintained tank with optimal water conditions.
