The Terrazzo Corn Snake, scientifically known as Pantherophis guttatus, is a captivating reptile known for its striking coloration and docile nature. Originating from North America, particularly in the southeastern United States, these snakes have become popular among reptile enthusiasts due to their attractive appearance and relatively low maintenance requirements.

Origin: The Terrazzo Corn Snake hails from the southeastern United States, primarily found in regions such as Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. These snakes inhabit a variety of environments, including forests, grasslands, and farmlands.

Temperature & Humidity: Ideal temperatures for keeping Terrazzo Corn Snakes range between 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit (24 to 29 degrees Celsius). Maintaining a moderate humidity level of around 40-50% is essential, with occasional spikes during shedding periods to aid in proper shedding.

Housing: To provide a suitable habitat for Terrazzo Corn Snakes, a secure and escape-proof enclosure is necessary. A 20 to 30-gallon terrarium is typically suitable for adults, while hatchlings and juveniles can be housed in smaller enclosures. Ensure the enclosure has a hide box, a heat source, and appropriate substrate like aspen shavings or cypress mulch. Regularly clean and maintain the habitat for the snake's well-being.

Feeding: Terrazzo Corn Snakes are carnivorous and primarily feed on rodents such as mice and rats. Hatchlings may consume pinky mice, while adults require larger prey items. Feed them once every 7-10 days, adjusting the prey size to match the snake's girth. Always use tongs to offer food to prevent accidental bites.

Lifespan: With proper care, Terrazzo Corn Snakes can live for 15-20 years in captivity. Their relatively long lifespan makes them a rewarding pet for those committed to their care.

Behavior and Personality: Terrazzo Corn Snakes are known for their gentle disposition and are often considered an excellent choice for beginners. They are generally docile, easy to handle, and rarely show aggression. When stressed or frightened, they may vibrate their tails, but this is not a sign of aggression, as they lack venom.
