Royal Python Pastel Desert Ghost is a stunning morph of the Royal Python species, known for its unique coloration and pattern. This particular morph has a combination of pastel, desert, and ghost genes, resulting in a snake with a beige and ivory coloration, with subtle hints of pink and purple. This morph is highly sought after by snake enthusiasts due to its unique appearance.

Origin: The Royal Python, also known as the Ball Python, is native to Sub-Saharan Africa. They are commonly found in countries such as Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria. Pastel Desert Ghost morphs are a result of selective breeding in captivity.

Temperature: Royal Pythons require a temperature range of 80-85°F (27-29°C) on the warm side of their enclosure, with a cooler side ranging from 75-80°F (24-27°C). It is essential to provide a temperature gradient to allow the snake to regulate its body temperature effectively.

Housing: A suitable enclosure for a Royal Python Pastel Desert Ghost should be at least 36 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 12 inches tall. It is crucial to provide a hiding place, such as a cave or a log, and a water dish that is large enough for the snake to soak in. The substrate should be kept dry, and the enclosure should be spot cleaned regularly. It is essential to avoid using any heat rocks or lamps that can cause burns.

Feeding: Royal Pythons are carnivorous and primarily feed on rodents such as mice and rats. Juveniles should be fed every 5-7 days, while adults can be fed every 10-14 days. It is essential to provide pre-killed prey, as live prey can injure or kill the snake.

Lifespan: Royal Pythons have an average lifespan of 20-30 years in captivity, provided that they are given proper care and nutrition. They can live longer in some cases, with some individuals living up to 40 years.

Behavior and Personality: Royal Pythons are known for their docile and calm temperament, making them an excellent choice for first-time snake owners. They are not aggressive and rarely bite, even when threatened. When stressed or frightened, they will typically curl up into a ball, which is where they get their name "Ball Python." They are also relatively easy to handle, and with regular handling, they can become quite comfortable with their owners.
