Kenyan Zebra Skink, also known as Mabuya quinquetaeniata, is a small, agile skink native to Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. It is a popular species among reptile enthusiasts due to its striking black and white striped pattern. These skinks are ground-dwellers and require plenty of space to move around. They are known for their active nature and can be fascinating to watch. They have slender bodies and can grow up to 20cm in length.

Origin: The Kenyan Zebra Skink is native to East Africa, specifically Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Temperature: The ideal temperature range for Kenyan Zebra Skinks is between 75°F to 85°F (24°C to 29°C) during the day, with a slight drop in temperature at night.

Housing: These skinks require a spacious enclosure with a secure lid as they are skilled escape artists. A 20-gallon tank is recommended for a single skink, with an additional 10 gallons for each additional skink. The enclosure should be equipped with hiding spots, basking areas, and a substrate that retains moisture. A UVB light source is also necessary to maintain the skink's health.

Feeding: Kenyan Zebra Skinks are omnivores and feed on a diet consisting of insects, vegetables, and fruits. They particularly enjoy mealworms, crickets, and roaches, as well as leafy greens and fruit such as bananas and strawberries.

Lifespan: Kenyan Zebra Skinks can live up to 10 years if properly cared for, making them a long-term commitment for any potential owner.

Behavior and Personality: These skinks are generally active and curious creatures that enjoy exploring their surroundings. They have a unique personality, and some can be quite social and friendly with their owners. They are diurnal, meaning they are active during the day and sleep at night.
