The Caribena Versicolor, commonly known as the Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula, is a stunning and sought-after species of arboreal tarantula. It is native to the Caribbean islands and is known for its vibrant colors, with metallic blue legs and a pinkish carapace. The Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula is a favorite among tarantula enthusiasts due to its beautiful appearance and relatively docile nature.

Origin: The Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula, Caribena Versicolor, is native to the Caribbean islands, including Martinique, Dominica, and Guadeloupe.

Temperature: The Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula thrives in a temperature range of 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit (24-29 degrees Celsius). It is important to maintain a consistent and moderate temperature within their enclosure, as they are adapted to a tropical climate.

Housing: As an arboreal species, the Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula requires a tall and vertically oriented enclosure. A terrarium with ample climbing space, such as branches or cork bark, is essential for their well-being. Providing some foliage or plants within the enclosure can enhance their natural habitat. Adequate ventilation and humidity levels should be maintained to ensure their health.

Feeding: The Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula is an insectivorous species and primarily feeds on live insects. Suitable prey options include crickets, roaches, and other appropriately sized insects. Feeding them once or twice a week, depending on their appetite and size, is generally sufficient to meet their nutritional needs.

Lifespan: With proper care, the Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula can have a relatively long lifespan. Females typically live for 7 to 10 years, while males have a shorter lifespan of 3 to 5 years. Providing a suitable environment, proper nutrition, and avoiding stressors can contribute to their longevity.

Behavior and Personality: The Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula is known for its generally docile and calm temperament. While they may exhibit defensive behavior if provoked or feel threatened, they are considered one of the more handleable tarantula species. They spend most of their time in trees or perched on branches, showcasing their arboreal nature.
