Delosperma cooperi, commonly known as Cooper's ice plant or hardy ice plant, is a succulent perennial renowned for its vibrant, daisy-like flowers and its ability to thrive in dry, challenging environments. This ground-cover plant features fleshy, green leaves that have a shimmering quality, reminiscent of ice crystals, hence the name "ice plant." The flowers, which bloom profusely from late spring to early fall, are typically a vivid magenta or purple hue, creating a striking carpet of color. Delosperma cooperi is an excellent choice for rock gardens, slopes, and borders, especially in areas that require drought-tolerant landscaping.
