The Philippine Tangerine Tarantula, scientifically known as Orphnaecus philippinus, is a captivating and striking arachnid species sought after by arachnid enthusiasts for its vibrant coloration and fascinating behavior. Originating from the lush tropical rainforests of the Philippines.

Origin: Native to the Philippines.

Temperature: The ideal temperature range for keeping CB Philippine Tangerine Tarantulas is between 75°F to 85°F (24°C to 29°C). Maintaining a consistent temperature within this range is crucial for their well-being.

Housing: To provide a suitable habitat for these tarantulas, it's essential to house them in a well-ventilated enclosure with enough substrate as they are burrowers. A terrarium with branches, cork bark, and other structures is ideal. Ensure that the substrate is slightly damp to maintain humidity levels, as these tarantulas require a moderately humid environment. Regular misting is recommended to maintain proper moisture levels, and a hide should be provided for security.

Feeding: Philippine Tangerine Tarantulas are carnivorous and primarily feed on insects such as crickets, roaches, and mealworms. Younger specimens may require smaller prey items, while adults can handle larger insects. Feeding should occur once or twice a week, depending on the spider's size and appetite. Make sure to remove any uneaten prey to prevent stress and maintain a clean enclosure.

Lifespan: The lifespan of Philippine Tangerine Tarantulas can vary but generally ranges from 5 to 10 years, with proper care and a suitable environment. Males tend to have shorter lifespans compared to females. Regular monitoring of their health and habitat conditions is essential to ensure they thrive.

Behavior and Personality: These tarantulas are known for their captivating and active behavior. While they may exhibit defensive behavior when threatened, they are generally considered to be more skittish than aggressive. Handling is not recommended.
