The Caramel Stripe Corn Snake, a captivating color morph of the common Corn Snake (Pantherophis guttatus), is a popular choice among snake enthusiasts. Known for its distinctive caramel-colored stripes and manageable size, this snake is not only visually appealing but also relatively easy to care for, making it a favorite in the world of reptile keeping.

Origin: Corn Snakes, including the Caramel Stripe variety, are native to the southeastern United States. They can be found in a wide range of habitats, from woodlands and grasslands to farmlands. In the wild, they inhabit regions from New Jersey to the Florida Keys and westward to Texas.

Temperature: Maintaining appropriate temperatures is vital for the well-being of Caramel Stripe Corn Snakes. They thrive in a temperature range of 24°C to 29°C (75°F to 85°F) during the day, with a slight drop at night. Providing a temperature gradient within their enclosure is essential, allowing them to thermoregulate by moving between warm and cooler areas.

Water Quality: Caramel Stripe Corn Snakes do not have specific water quality requirements like aquatic species. However, they should have access to clean, chlorine-free water at all times. A shallow water dish is sufficient for drinking, and the water should be changed regularly to prevent contamination. There are no specific pH or water hardness requirements for these snakes.

Enclosure Size: For housing Caramel Stripe Corn Snakes, an enclosure with dimensions of approximately 90cm x 45cm x 45cm (length x width x height) is suitable for an adult snake. It's essential to provide hiding spots, such as caves or branches, to make the snake feel secure. The enclosure should also have a secure lid to prevent escapes.

Feeding: Caramel Stripe Corn Snakes are carnivorous and primarily feed on a diet of rodents, including mice and rats. The size of the prey should be appropriate for the snake's size, with young snakes consuming smaller prey items and gradually transitioning to larger ones as they grow. Feeding should occur every 7 to 10 days for juveniles and less frequently for adults. Prey items should be appropriately thawed and warmed before feeding.

Lifespan: In captivity, Caramel Stripe Corn Snakes can have a lifespan of 15 to 20 years or even longer with proper care. They are relatively hardy and resilient when provided with suitable living conditions, a balanced diet, and regular health checks.

Behavior and Personality: Caramel Stripe Corn Snakes are known for their calm and docile nature. They are generally easy to handle and tolerate regular interaction with their keepers. These snakes are not aggressive and are often chosen as beginner snakes due to their mild temperament. However, it's essential to approach them gently and avoid sudden movements to ensure a stress-free environment for the snake.

Please note: We don't ship live animals. You can order online and choose click and collect, and we will hold it for you. When considering Caramel Stripe Corn Snakes as pets, it's important to research their specific care requirements to provide them with a comfortable and healthy life in captivity.
