Camassia caerulea 'Dark Blue' is a herbaceous perennial with striking dark blue flowers that bloom in late spring to early summer. Also known as wild hyacinth or quamash, this North American native plant grows in clumps and produces tall, sturdy stems with multiple blooms. The flowers are shaped like stars and have a light fragrance, making them attractive to pollinators such as bees and butterflies. After flowering, the plant produces seed pods that turn from green to brown and release small black seeds. Camassia caerulea 'Dark Blue' prefers moist, well-drained soil and partial shade, but can also tolerate full sun.
