The Gold Honey Dwarf Gourami, a captivating and vibrant freshwater fish, is renowned for its striking golden-orange coloration and peaceful temperament. This small, yet brightly colored species, typically reaches about 5 cm in length, making it a popular choice for aquarists who prefer smaller, community aquariums. These gouramis are known for their unique labyrinth organ, which allows them to breathe air directly from the surface, a trait they share with other gourami species. Their hardy nature and adaptability to a variety of water conditions make them suitable for both novice and experienced fish keepers. They exhibit a fascinating behavior and are known for building bubble nests when breeding.

Origin: Gold Honey Dwarf Gouramis are native to the freshwater habitats of South Asia, particularly in regions around India and Bangladesh.

Temperature: The ideal temperature range for Gold Honey Dwarf Gouramis is between 22°C to 28°C (72°F to 82°F).

Feeding: These gouramis are omnivores and thrive on a varied diet. They should be fed a mix of high-quality flake food, frozen or freeze-dried foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms, as well as vegetable-based foods to maintain their health and coloration.

Water Quality: Gold Honey Dwarf Gouramis prefer slightly acidic to neutral water, with a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5. The water hardness should be between 4 to 10 dGH.

Ideal Aquarium Size: A minimum tank size of 40 liters is recommended for Gold Honey Dwarf Gouramis. They require a well-planted aquarium with plenty of hiding spots and a gentle water flow. Adequate space and vegetation are essential to mimic their natural environment and reduce stress.

Lifespan: Under optimal conditions, Gold Honey Dwarf Gouramis can live up to 4 to 6 years.

Community Tank Compatibility: They are peaceful fish and can coexist with other small, non-aggressive species. Avoid keeping them with large or overly active fish.

Breeding: Breeding Gold Honey Dwarf Gouramis involves setting up a separate breeding tank with subdued lighting and plenty of floating plants. The male builds a bubble nest and entices the female to spawn underneath it. After spawning, the male becomes protective of the nest and should be separated once the fry begin to swim freely.
