The Glowlight Rasbora, scientifically known as Rasbora hengeli, is a charming and vibrant species in the aquarium hobby, known for its delicate size and striking coloration. This small, slender fish typically grows to about 3-4 cm (1.2-1.6 inches) in length. The most notable feature of the Glowlight Rasbora is its bright, orange-gold horizontal stripe that runs the length of its body, from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail fin. This stripe glows beautifully under aquarium lighting, resembling the glow of a lantern, hence the name. They have a translucent body with a slight iridescence, which adds to their appeal.

Origin: Glowlight Rasboras are native to Southeast Asia, specifically found in the soft, acidic waters of peat swamps and blackwater streams in Indonesia and Malaysia.

Temperature: The ideal temperature range for Glowlight Rasboras is between 22°C and 28°C (72°F to 82°F).

Water Quality: They prefer a pH range of 5.0 to 7.0 and soft water conditions. Maintaining clean and stable water conditions is essential for their health.

Aquarium Size: A minimum tank size of 40 liters is recommended for a small group of Glowlight Rasboras. They are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least six to ten to encourage natural behavior and reduce stress.

Feeding: Glowlight Rasboras are omnivorous. Their diet should include high-quality flake food, supplemented with small live or frozen foods such as daphnia, brine shrimp, and micro worms.

Lifespan: In a well-maintained aquarium, they can live for about 4-5 years.

Behavior and Personality: These fish are peaceful, sociable, and active, often seen schooling in the middle to upper levels of the aquarium. They are well-suited for community tanks with other small, peaceful fish species.
