he Pygmy Corydoras, scientifically known as Corydoras pygmaeus, is a delightful and miniature freshwater catfish species that adds charm and character to aquariums. Native to South America, particularly in the Rio Madeira basin in Brazil, Pygmy Corydoras are recognized for their small size and peaceful nature. They are a popular choice for nano and planted aquariums, where their schooling behavior and adorable appearance can be appreciated.

Origin: Pygmy Corydoras are native to South America, specifically in the Rio Madeira basin in Brazil.

Temperature: The ideal temperature range for Pygmy Corydoras is between 22°C to 26°C (72°F to 79°F).

Water Quality: They thrive in slightly acidic to neutral water conditions with a pH range of 6.0 to 7.0 and moderate water hardness.

Aquarium Size: A tank of at least 20 liters is suitable for keeping a group of Pygmy Corydoras. They are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least six individuals. The tank should have sand substrate to protect their delicate barbels and plenty of hiding spots.

Feeding: Pygmy Corydoras are omnivores and can be fed a diet of high-quality sinking pellets or flakes. They also enjoy live or frozen foods like small worms, brine shrimp, or daphnia.

Lifespan: With proper care, Pygmy Corydoras typically live for about 3 to 5 years in captivity.

Behavior and Personality: These tiny catfish are known for their peaceful and sociable nature. They are excellent community fish and get along well with other non-aggressive species. Pygmy Corydoras display shoaling behavior, and a group of them adds movement and interest to the aquarium's bottom level.
