The Mexican Rose Grey Tarantula, scientifically known as Brachypelma verdezi, is a captivating arachnid species prized by arachnid enthusiasts for its striking appearance and fascinating behavior. This tarantula is characterized by its beautiful, rose-grey to deep burgundy coloration, which sets it apart from other Brachypelma species. With a leg span that can reach up to 6 inches (15 centimeters), these tarantulas make for an impressive addition to any exotic pet collection.

Origin: The Mexican Rose Grey Tarantula is primarily found in the tropical forests of Mexico. They inhabit burrows in the earth, which they create by digging with their strong, spiky legs. These burrows provide them with a secure retreat and protection from predators.

Temperature: To thrive in captivity, Mexican Rose Grey Tarantulas require a stable temperature range of 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit (24 to 29 degrees Celsius). Maintaining this temperature is crucial to ensure the well-being and activity of these arachnids.

Housing: Providing the right habitat for Mexican Rose Grey Tarantulas is essential. They should be housed in a glass or plastic enclosure with a secure lid to prevent escapes. The enclosure should be appropriately sized, offering enough space for the tarantula to move and burrow comfortably. Substrate such as coconut coir or peat moss should be provided for burrowing. Additionally, a small water dish and hiding spots like cork bark or half logs are essential for their well-being.

Feeding: Mexican Rose Grey Tarantulas are carnivorous and primarily feed on insects such as crickets, mealworms, and roaches. Their feeding frequency can vary, but adults typically require a meal every 2 to 3 weeks. It's crucial to offer appropriately sized prey to avoid overfeeding or underfeeding.

Lifespan: These tarantulas have a relatively long lifespan, with females living up to 15-20 years or even longer in captivity. Males have a shorter lifespan, typically ranging from 5 to 7 years. Proper care and a suitable environment can contribute to their longevity.

Behavior and Personality: Mexican Rose Grey Tarantulas are known for their calm and docile temperament, making them suitable for beginner tarantula keepers. They are not known to be aggressive and will generally retreat or flick urticating hairs when threatened rather than bite. However, it's essential to handle them with care and only when necessary, as excessive handling can cause stress.

Please note: We don't ship live animals. You can order online and choose click and collect, and we will hold it for you. It's important to ensure the welfare of these magnificent creatures by adhering to ethical and responsible practices when keeping them as pets.
