Lemna trisulca, commonly known as Ivy-leaved Duckweed, is a small aquatic plant with floating leaves that resemble ivy leaves. This plant is a type of duckweed that can often be found in still or slow-moving water bodies such as ponds, lakes, and marshes. The leaves are green and typically grow to around 1-2 cm in length, with a distinct notch in the centre. The plant has small flowers that are usually hidden among the leaves and are not particularly noticeable. Ivy-leaved Duckweed is a fast-growing plant that can be used to provide shade and cover for fish and other aquatic creatures. It is also a great addition to a pond or water garden as it helps to oxygenate the water and can help to control algae growth.
