Key Features:

Distinctive Appearance: A small freshwater snail with an elongated, cone-shaped shell in warm golden to caramel tones. The body is typically dark grey to black with a slightly textured look, creating a strong contrast against the bright shell. As a member of Tylomelania, it has a distinctive “rabbit-like” face and long antennae that make it instantly recognizable in aquariums.
Graceful Movement: Moves slowly across substrate and décor, often seen grazing methodically rather than roaming widely. Its deliberate, steady motion adds a calm, natural presence to planted tanks.
Behavior: Peaceful and solitary but not shy. Spends most of its time foraging and exploring surfaces for food.

Care Requirements:

Tank Conditions:
Thrives in warm, stable freshwater aquariums with soft to moderately hard water. Ideal temperature is 76–84°F (24–29°C). Prefers well-oxygenated water with a soft substrate like sand or fine gravel. Stable calcium levels are important for healthy shell development.

Diet:
Omnivorous scavenger. Feeds on algae, biofilm, sinking pellets, leftover fish food, and decaying plant matter. Should be supplemented with algae wafers, blanched vegetables (such as zucchini and spinach), and calcium-rich foods to maintain strong shell growth.

Compatibility:
Highly peaceful and suitable for community aquariums. Compatible with most non-aggressive fish, shrimp, and other snails. Should not be kept with snail-eating species such as puffers or large loaches.

Size and Growth:

Adult Size:
Typically reaches 1.5–2 cm in juvenile form as provided, but adult Tylomelania species can grow significantly larger depending on strain.

Growth:
Growth is slow but steady, heavily influenced by diet and water mineral content. Proper calcium intake and warm, stable conditions promote healthy shell development and consistent growth over time.
