The Indian Stick Insect (Carausius morosus) is a slender, plant-eating invertebrate known for blending into foliage. It needs a secure, well-ventilated enclosure with enough vertical space to moult and regular access to fresh suitable leaves.
Care essentials
- Provide a tall enclosure with room to hang freely during moulting
- Offer fresh, pesticide-free bramble; suitable alternatives include privet, ivy, hawthorn or rose
- Mist foliage lightly and maintain appropriate ventilation
- Keep at normal room temperature, avoiding extremes
- Handle carefully and minimise disturbance
