Lenten Rose ViV 'Vanessa' | Helleborus × hybridus 'Vanessa' (2 Litre)
Pink flowers with pronounced darker markings face outwards above leathery green leaves. ViV 'Vanessa' brings colour to sheltered winter and spring borders and can also be grown in a generous outdoor container.
Why we like it
- Pink flowers have distinctive markings.
- Outward-facing blooms are easy to appreciate.
- A useful perennial for winter and spring pots.
What to know
- Choose a sheltered position in partial shade, with light reaching the plant in winter.
- Plant in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.
- Water while establishing; avoid waterlogged soil and dry container compost.
- Remove damaged leaves and old flower stems carefully, retaining healthy marbled foliage.
- Wear gloves when handling; hellebores are harmful if eaten and may irritate skin.
