Gratiola officinalis, commonly known as hedge hyssop, is a perennial aquatic or semi-aquatic plant native to Europe and parts of Asia. It features upright, slender stems with finely toothed, opposite leaves and delicate, pale lilac to pink tubular flowers with yellow markings, blooming from late spring to summer. Typically found in wet meadows, marshes, and along pond edges, it prefers damp, nutrient-rich soils. Historically used in herbal medicine, this plant is now appreciated for its ornamental qualities and its ability to support wetland biodiversity.
