Behaviour & Compatibility
A terrestrial, secretive salamander with skin secretions. Minimise handling and never mix species. Wash hands after maintenance; do not touch the eyes or mouth.
Feeding & Nutrition
Offer suitable earthworms and varied appropriately sized invertebrates; juveniles need smaller, more frequent meals. Use suitable amphibian supplements on insect prey. Provide a very shallow dish of conditioned water.
Routine Care
Check conditions and appetite daily. Remove waste and leftover insects promptly; replace bathing water with conditioned water. Keep airflow and drainage working, and seek an exotics vet for persistent skin, movement or appetite changes.
Important Before Buying
Run and check the enclosure before collection. Adult housing requirements apply even when the animal is sold as a baby. Confirm the animal’s current food, age and supplement schedule with our reptile team.
