The landscape

Behind the layout

Fabian Beck’s 54-litre Within the Flow explores planting both below and above the waterline. Wood carries the composition upward, with Anubias and other foliage creating a connection between the submerged planting and the exposed structure.

Monte Carlo, mosses and smaller rhizome plants add detail beneath the surface. Exposed foliage needs appropriate humidity; the designer’s account notes that dry room air affected the leaves above the water.
