The Silvertip Tetra, scientifically known as Hasemania nana, is a captivating and peaceful freshwater fish known for its striking appearance and schooling behavior. Native to South America, particularly in the clearwater streams and tributaries of the Rio Orinoco and Rio Meta basins, Silvertip Tetras are appreciated for their unique silver-tipped fins and attractive coloration. They are a popular choice among aquarists looking to add a touch of elegance to their community aquariums.

Origin: Silvertip Tetras are native to South America, specifically in the Rio Orinoco and Rio Meta basins.

Temperature: The ideal temperature range for Silvertip Tetras is between 23°C to 28°C (73°F to 82°F).

Water Quality: They thrive in slightly acidic to neutral water conditions with a pH range of 6.0 to 7.0 and moderate water hardness.

Aquarium Size: A tank of at least 40 liters is recommended for a school of Silvertip Tetras. They are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least six individuals. The tank should be well-planted with open areas for swimming and hiding spots.

Feeding: Silvertip Tetras are omnivores and can be fed a diet of high-quality flake or pellet food. They also enjoy live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, or bloodworms as occasional treats.

Lifespan: With proper care, Silvertip Tetras typically live for about 3 to 5 years in captivity.

Behavior and Personality: These tetras are known for their peaceful and sociable nature. They are excellent community fish and get along well with other non-aggressive species. Silvertip Tetras display shoaling behavior, and a group of them creates a visually appealing and dynamic presence in the aquarium.
