How Click & Collect works for live fish:

Place your order online and choose Click & Collect at checkout. Please wait until you receive confirmation from us that your order is ready before travelling to the store.

Your fish will be held for collection by our Aquatics team at Newlands Home & Garden Centre, Clondalkin. When you arrive, bring your order confirmation and a member of the team will prepare your livestock for collection.

Please note: live fish are not shipped or delivered. Collection times can vary depending on livestock preparation and availability, so please wait for your ready-to-collect confirmation before setting off.

Aquarium and water conditions

  • Setup: Sand, shelter and open bottom swimming space
  • Water: Keep ammonia and nitrite at zero, and match temperature, pH and hardness to the individual species
  • Tank size: Allow for full adult size, social needs, filtration and access to food

Behaviour and compatibility

Keep a social group; energetic and unsuitable for very shy fish. Choose tank mates only after checking adult size and water needs; provide secure hiding places where appropriate.

Diet

Sinking omnivore foods and frozen invertebrates. Feed measured portions and remove leftovers to protect water quality.

Care notes

Use an established filtered aquarium, acclimate carefully and maintain regular water testing and partial changes.
