Tomato ‘Sunbaby’ is a sweet and juicy yellow cherry tomato variety known for its high yields and excellent flavour. The small, round fruits have a thin skin and a deliciously sweet taste, making them perfect for snacking, salads, and cooking. ‘Sunbaby’ is an indeterminate (cordon) variety, meaning it continues producing fruit throughout the growing season. It thrives in both greenhouses and outdoor conditions, provided it has plenty of warmth and sunlight. The bright yellow fruits add a splash of colour to dishes and have a lower acidity than red tomatoes.

Why we like it

  • Exceptionally sweet flavour with a thin skin.
  • Heavy cropping throughout the season.
  • Vibrant yellow colour adds variety to dishes.

What to know

  • Prefers nutrient-rich, well-drained soil.
  • Requires regular watering to prevent split fruit.
  • Needs support with stakes or canes as a cordon variety.
  • Remove side shoots to encourage better fruiting.
  • Feed weekly with a high-potassium fertiliser once flowers appear.

When to plant

Sow indoors from February to April. Transplant outdoors from May after the risk of frost has passed.
