The unique flower colour of Prunus Ukon makes it stand out amongst other Cherry Blossom trees. Clothing the tree in April-May, the large semi-double flowers are an unusual, creamy sulphur yellow in colour, sometimes with a pinkish tinge. New foliage is a reddish-bronze developing to mid-green and then good red and purple/maroon autumn colours.

It is a small tree with an attractive, spreading form and will grow to 5 x 4 meters in 20 years. The spreading form has an oriental feel that is particularly suited to Japanese themed gardens, but looks equally impressive when used as a single specimen focal point in any sized garden. Prunus 'Ukon' is a wonderfully unique Japanese Cherry tree and has received the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
