The XXL catfish cave closed at the back is of course not "only" for catfish , but is also very popular with large crayfish such as Cherax, Orconectes or Procambarus as a hiding place. It is ideal for all kinds of Ancistrus species like Ancistrus tamboensis and Ancistrus temmincki.

The XXL Catfish Cave has rounded edges and a smoothed surface, so the risk of injury is minimized.

Nevertheless, as with all ceramic articles, biofilms can optimally settle here, which are eaten with pleasure not only by shrimps, but also by various loricariid catfish.

Bacteria settle in these biofilms, which destroy organic and other pollutants in the water and can thus significantly improve the water quality.

If you want to conceal the catfish burrow and make it disappear, it can be planted wonderfully with moss, which is simply tied or glued on. A special plant glue is just as suitable for this as a cyanoacrylate-based superglue.
